Heritage Park Dog Off-Leash Area

The Heritage Park dog off-leash dog area is a mostly treeless, fenced area with a water accessiblity via an on site pond. The off-leash area is accessible from all entrances of the park but is closest to the entrance at 16240 Lackman Road (see Heritage Park map). Shawnee Mission Park Dog Off-Leash Area

Located off John Barkley Road, just east of the archery range and north east of the observation tower, the 53-acre off-leash area features a dog swim beach and wood chip and natural surface trails through grassland and wooded areas. The area also includes paved parking and portable toilets. The off-leash area is open year around during regular park hours except from 5:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. each Tuesday morning when the area is closed for maintenance upkeep.
