Theatre of The Imagination

Do you want to be the star of your own movie? Have a Movie Star Acting party it will be unlike any other. We will come to your house or party location and make a fun movie with you and your friends. Each party has a theme, which you get to pick and will include enough costumes and accessories for everyone. Our parties are different from any other party because the parents don't have to do any of the work. You choose the theme, make the guest list, and we can do the rest. We understand that the life of a parent today is a busy one, so why not leave the details to us? You can feel confident that we will provide your child with a spectacular party that will be the foundation of sweet memories in the future.

Roeland Park Aquatic Center

Hey, Kids! The Roeland Park Aquatic Center is a great place for a party! We offer a 25-meter-by-25-yard competitive pool, with zero-depth entry and fountain sprayers. Must have a minimum of 10. Ernie Miller Nature Center

Ages 5-11.

Have your birthday in our new Salamander Room! Bet you never partied with animals like these! Choose between three entertaining, interactive experiences. Pick the Birthday Safari and stalk some wild Kansas critters. Choose the Snake Celebration and explore the myths and realities of these important reptiles. Check out our Magical Party for young wizards. The animal presentations last 30 minutes, including fun games and activities. The Birthday Party Box is supplied for optional party activities. Mahaffie Stagecoach Stop and Farm

Enjoy your birthday party at Mahaffie! Ride the Stagecoach, feed the chickens, or race stick horses!

The Barlow and Sanderson’s Southern Overland Mail and Express Company contracted with the Mahaffie Family to operate a home station.  Stagecoaches would travel to three different destinations, Lawrence, KS, Fort Scott, KS, and Santa Fe, New Mexico Territory.  Passengers stopped at the Mahaffie farm, had a meal, and continued their travels. 

In that tradition, the Mahaffie Stagecoach Stop and Farm offers three birthday packages to choose from:

Lawrence Express - includes set up and clean up, tableware, decorations, homemade cupcakes, drinks, time to open presents, birthday party souvenir bag, and one program element (see below).  This rate applies up to 20 people, including adults.  Any additional participant, parent or child, will be $5 per person. 

Cost: $125; Time: 2 hours

Fort Scott Express - includes the Lawrence Express, plus one additional program element (see below).

Time: 2hours; Cost: $150

Santa Fe Express-includes the Lawrence Express, stagecoach ride, and one additional program element (see below).

Time: 2.5 hours; Cost: $200

Party corrals hold about 40 guests. Each has a picnic table that holds approximately 25 guests.

Guidelines for use of the party corrals:

Decorations are welcome; balloons must stay in the party corral.

Birthday cakes and additional food are allowed.

No outside feed for the animals is allowed.

There are no reservation times for use of the tickets. Tickets can be used at the Farmstead through Oct. 31. (see hours for activities)

Request for party corral refunds must be submitted in writing at least 14 business days in advance of the rental date. All refunds will be equal to the total paid minus the $5 permit fee.

Rainout policy - Only the Farmstead supervisor can authorize the cancellation of party corral reservations due to inclement weather. The Farmstead will post closing or cancellation of activities at 913/895-5020, option 3 (If you want to talk directly with the Farmstead, dial 913-897-1042  Ext. 28). If your group independently decides not to come because of weather, neither refund nor rescheduling will be made.
